Little Day Out – Dec 2011

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

On 15th December 2011, NWAICA ran the second “Little Day Out” for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care and living in the North West. NWAICA partnered with several agencies to deliver the event. Partners included Families Plus -Lifeline, Pass Australia, Queensland Government Child Safety services, Queensland Government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services, Prince of Peace, Picabeen and Griffith University.

The day was hugely successful. More than 80 individuals attended and they enjoyed themselves. The activities included Corroboree, traditional art, dance, story telling, and Indigenous games.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, helped or came along. “Little Day Out” is a regular annual event to promote indigenous culture, pride and identify with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in care.
