Boys & Girls yarning circles

In March, NWAICA started a trial program of yarning circles at local schools and targeted community, as a part of NWAICA’s Sport & Recreation initiatives. The first yarning circle for 2012 started at Grovely State School with a Boys Yarn. The group has about 14 young men who attend weekly meetings and learn about themselves, their community and talk about issues relevant to them.
A Girls Yarn has started at Everton Park State High. Both the Boys and Girls Yarns include a healthy breakfast option. Thanks to all staff and community volunteers who are participating in these groups.
