‘Girls Business’ Yarning Group

The inaugural “Girls Business’ Yarning group for  young women was held on 23rd August 2011 at Mitchelton State High School.

Held by NWAICA in partnership with the school, this yarning group supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls enrolled in grade 9 to grade 11 at Mitchelton State High.

The topics included cultural identity, health and well-being, community life, school, career goals and history.

We were very privileged to be involved in the workshop and see it as a ground-breaking program. We feel that it yielded remarkable benefits for the young students and the guest speakers.
